This bibliography is intended to assist program directors and teachers in selecting English language/Civics texts for their own particular populations and goals. Data on 36 student texts and any accompanying teachers' manuals (9 in all) and 5 reference books in print in 2001 are contained in the current bibliography, as well as two videotapes. Each book is profiled in a one-page chart that provides information on the following: title, author, publisher, cost, student performance level, teaching/learning basis, book and chapter organization, pictorial support, exercises, usage guidance, and any outstanding characteristic. All of the texts in the bibliography are arranged in alphabetical order by title. Following the individual review pages are four charts comparing selected texts in more detail. Texts are grouped by student performance level and content. There are three additional indexes to provide easy access to information (an index of titles by content categories, an index of texts by author and a publisher/address index. (SM)
